Goat Funded Trader Rules Explained: A Model-by-Model Checklist

Checked on: 2026-06-16. Rules and pricing can change. Always verify at the official Goat Funded Trader site before purchasing.

Goat Funded Trader (GFT) currently offers nine active account models — each with distinct profit targets, drawdown structures, and payout conditions. Choosing the wrong model without reading the rulebook is one of the most common reasons traders fail funded account evaluations. This checklist breaks down every active GFT model side-by-side so you can match the rules to your trading style before committing capital.

How to Read This Checklist

Each section covers one model and lists:

  • Profit target — what you need to hit to pass or get paid
  • Daily loss limit — maximum intraday drawdown permitted
  • Maximum loss limit — account-level hard floor (static or trailing)
  • Minimum trading days — how many qualifying sessions are required
  • Profit split — your share of net gains at payout
  • Payout schedule — when you can request a withdrawal

Where a limit is described as trailing, it moves with your highest equity watermark. Where it is described as static, it is fixed from the account's starting balance.

GFT Rules by Model

1-Step

Rule Detail
Profit target 10%
Daily loss limit 4% (static)
Max loss limit 6% (static)
Minimum trading days 3 valid days
Profit split 80%
Payout schedule Bi-weekly

Notes: Single-phase evaluation. Pass the 10% target without breaching either drawdown limit across at least 3 valid trading days and the account moves to funded status. The 6% static max loss is tighter than several competing models at this phase count — traders using wide stop strategies should model their worst-case drawdown before selecting this program.

2-Step Standard

Rule Detail
Phase 1 profit target 10%
Phase 2 profit target 5%
Daily loss limit 5% (static)
Max loss limit 10% (static)
Min trading days (each phase) 3 valid days
Profit split 80%
Payout schedule Bi-weekly

Notes: The 10% static max loss gives more room than the 1-Step. The two-phase structure filters for consistency; traders who hit Phase 1 quickly on a single large trade still need to demonstrate a controlled Phase 2. Both phases require their own 3-day minimum.

2-Step GOAT

Rule Detail
Phase 1 profit target 8%
Phase 2 profit target 6%
Daily loss limit 4% (static)
Max loss limit 10% (static)
Min trading days (each phase) 3 valid days
