FXCM Review 2026: Company, Entities, Platforms — cover image

FXCM is a forex and CFD brand founded in 1999 and now run by the Stratos group. Which company holds your account matters a lot. The global site fxcm.com/markets is run by Stratos Global LLC in St Vincent and the Grenadines. FXCM itself says that company is not subject to the regulatory oversight of its other entities. ASIC Order (December 2025)

On 5 December 2025 ASIC made an interim design-and-distribution stop order against Stratos Trading Pty Limited (trading as FXCM). The order stops it issuing CFDs to retail clients because its target market determination included investors with a medium risk appetite (ASIC media release 25-295MR). Australian readers should check the current status on asic.gov.au before opening an account.

Accounts and Platforms

  • Minimum deposit: 50 in the account currency for individual accounts on the global site. Corporate, trust and IRA accounts need 50,000.
  • Platforms: FXCM's platform page lists Trading Station (desktop, Web 3.0 and mobile) with backtesting, strategy optimisation, Real Volume and the SSI sentiment indicator. MetaTrader 4 support varies by entity, so check your entity's platform page.
