Day Trading Brokers for Forex & CFDs: What to Compare
Day trading changes what matters in a broker: round-turn cost per lot, execution during news, platform tools and stop-out levels.

For day trading forex and CFDs, compare brokers on cost per round turn first. You pay the spread plus commission on every trade, so frequent trading magnifies small differences. After cost, look at how prices behave around news, platform tools (one-click trading, MT5 depth of market, TradingView), and margin call / stop-out levels. Among the brokers we cover, the raw-spread accounts at Vantage (Raw ECN, $3 per side), Exness (Raw Spread / Zero), PU Prime (Prime / ECN) and HFM (Zero) suit active traders best on paper. We have not run live execution tests, so treat any speed claims as the broker's own.
Day-Trading Account Terms (Broker-Published)
| Broker | Account to look at | Pricing | Platforms | Entity caution |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vantage | Raw ECN (from $50) | Raw spread + $3 per side per lot | MT4, MT5, TradingView, app | FCA/ASIC retail capped at 1:30; offshore higher |
| Exness | Raw Spread / Zero | Raw: up to $3.50 per side; Zero: from $0.05 per side | MT4, MT5, Exness Terminal | Leverage depends on entity, equity and instrument |
| PU Prime | Prime / ECN | $3.50 per side (Prime), $1 per side (ECN, higher minimum) | MT4, MT5, app | ASIC 1:30; offshore up to 1:1000 |
| HFM | Zero | Commission per lot (~$6 round turn, indicative) | MT4, MT5, HFM app | FCA/CySEC 1:30; offshore higher |
Commissions are from our dated reviews (August 2026). Confirm them on the broker's current account page for your entity.

What Actually Separates Brokers for Day Traders
- Round-turn cost at your trading hours. Check average spreads during the London–New York overlap, not "from" figures.
- News behaviour. Spreads widen and slippage rises around NFP, CPI and central-bank decisions. Try a demo during a release before trading live through one.
- Stop-out level. JustMarkets, for example, publishes a 40% margin call and 20% stop-out. Know where your broker closes positions.
- Order types and tools. MT5 adds depth of market, more pending order types and 21 timeframes. TradingView integration (Vantage) suits chart-led traders.
- Withdrawal process. Active traders withdraw more often, so check processing times and fees for your method.
Leverage Is Not a Day-Trading Edge
High leverage lets you open bigger positions, which makes each spread and slip cost more in dollar terms. Most retail CFD accounts lose money, and broker-published loss figures typically fall between 60% and 80%+ depending on the entity. Size positions by a fixed percentage risk per trade, not by the margin you have available.

Day Trading Brokers for Forex & CFDs: Your Questions Answered
What account type is best for day trading forex?
Usually a raw-spread/ECN-style account with commission, because frequent trading magnifies spread costs.
How much do I need to start day trading forex?
Brokers allow small minimums ($10–$50), but meaningful risk management at 0.5–1% risk per trade needs enough balance for your stop distances.
Is day trading forex profitable?
Most retail CFD accounts lose money; broker-published loss rates are commonly above 60–80%. Treat it as high risk.
