A swap-free account removes the overnight interest (swap) charged or paid on positions held past rollover. Brokers handle it in two main ways. Exness and JustMarkets apply a swap-free status or level to the client: Exness applies it across your whole Personal Area, and JustMarkets has "Standard" and "Extended" levels, with Extended removing swaps on most instruments. PU Prime and Vantage offer Islamic or swap-free accounts that replace swap with an administration fee on overnight positions. In both models, eligibility, the instruments covered and the maximum holding period are set by the broker and can change.
Swap-Free Terms Compared (Broker-Published)
| Broker | How it works | Who qualifies | Replacement charge |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exness | Swap-free status applied to your whole Personal Area; separate rules for Islamic countries | Status depends on region and trading activity | Not charged on qualifying instruments (Exness says over 98% of volume is swap-free) |
| JustMarkets | Swap-free levels: Standard and Extended; convert any account via support | Muslims and clients with Extended level | Extended: no swaps on most instruments |
| PU Prime | Islamic Account (Standard terms) and Islamic Prime Cent | Self-declaration | Administration fee after overnight hold (amount not published on pages we checked) |
| Vantage | Swap-free account | Religious grounds; academy page says also open to others with similar restrictions | Administration fee on overnight positions |
| HFM | Swap-free (Islamic) accounts available | Per HFM terms and entity | See HFM swap rates |

"Swap-Free" Doesn't Mean "Cost-Free"
- Admin fees replace swap at some brokers. They can be fixed per lot per night and may cost more than swap on some instruments.
- Instrument exclusions are common: exotics, some indices, crypto or energy CFDs may still carry swap.
- Holding limits: some brokers revoke swap-free status if positions are held beyond a set number of days, or if the status is "abused" through carry trading.
- Wider spreads: a few brokers widen spreads on Islamic accounts. Compare all-in cost.
Sharia Compliance
A swap-free label is a product feature. It doesn't certify that an account is Sharia-compliant. PU Prime, for example, uses self-declaration and doesn't publish a Sharia board review, so our coverage calls it "swap-free", not "certified". If compliance matters to you, ask the broker for a scholar or board opinion and read the account terms yourself.
How to Check Before Holding Overnight
- In MT4/MT5, open the symbol Specification and check swap long and short for your account.
- Confirm in the client area that your account shows swap-free status.
- Read the broker's swap-free policy for admin fees, excluded instruments and holding-period limits.

Swap-Free Forex Brokers: Your Questions Answered
Is a swap-free account halal?
A swap-free label is a product feature, not a certification. If Sharia compliance matters, ask the broker for scholarly review and read the terms.
Do swap-free accounts have hidden fees?
Some replace swap with an administration fee per lot per night or exclude certain instruments. Check the broker's swap-free policy.
Can non-Muslims use swap-free accounts?
Some brokers allow it (Exness and JustMarkets apply status/levels; Vantage's academy says others with similar restrictions may qualify). Terms vary.
